ACTIVITIES
The town of Kingussie, capital of Badenoch, is in the
magnificent Spey valley, heart of the Highlands of Scotland, an ideal
"all-year-round" holiday centre. Kingussie provides a quiet, delightful
setting, which the traveller will find most refreshing. A comprehensive range of
shops, accommodation and entertainment are available locally, with further extensive
facilities only 12 miles away at Aviemore.
The surrounding mountains, glens and lochs provide not only tranquility for those seeking
peace, but adventure for the more energetic.
Spend time in Kingussie at the Highland Folk Museum , or climb Craeg Bheag, the small hill
(1581 ft ) above the town, play golf at one of the most picturesque courses in Scotland,
or visit Ruthven Barracks occupied by Jacobite Forces on their way to Culloden.
Just out of Kingussie are the Insh Marshes, rich in bird life, the Clan Macpherson Museum
at Newtonmore and further afield you can visit the Osprey reserves .
Whatever interest might bring you to Kingussie, we are sure you will enjoy the true
Highland hospitality and courtesy for which this part of the world is famous.
Spend a few days in
Kingussie and you will soon see how much there is to see and do, all within a 12
mile radius. Take the quiet roads shown on the map and stop off at all the
places of interest - something to suite everyone's taste.
